let’s get nauti.

Our friends are getting pretty good at mastering the art of the themed dinner party.  This was the second year in a row that our pals Connor and Ryan have hosted a nautical themed dinner on their family’s boat, The Bogey II.   We leave the boat docked in the marina, bust out our preppiest looks, and have ourselves a grand ol’ time.

It was still 85 degrees out at cocktail hour, so we drank dry rosé and snacked on watermelon, feta, and mint on the bow. There were dinghy rides, rockfish tacos on the grill, and a few gazpacho spills here and there.  Our marina neighbors and new friends Doug and Juan, upon returning from a day of crabbing, brought over two Dungeness crabs which we cracked and ate with our hands.

The dinner concluded with peach cobbler, vanilla ice cream, and a mind blowing supermoon rising over the city.  Not that we could ever forget, but it was one of those nights that reminded us why Pacific Northwest summers are second to none.
